What exactly is access to appropriate housing and services for adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)? This is our experience from 2023 to 2026 Scenario 1: 2023-2026 XX is female and performed so well to get into College for undergrad studies as a Law student. The objectives are further divided into interests, aspirations, dreams, desires and freedoms. We have defined the objectives thereby structured or restricted our experiences to goals. For some the goals are abstract and for others they are a source of optimism. What is cha...

Family Circle Settings (FCS): A positive community-based behavioral change and revitalization tool

Image
A positive life hack. We designed and promote family circle settings (FCS) which are groups of 5-13 members who sit around a table for a full day and develop personal plans which they commit to execute for a full year.   The full year plans are printed into a Family Circle Pocket Book (FCPB) which is referred to on a daily basis to check progress.   The methodology gets its name from the elements of execution.   These are B eneficiary-centered-problem-posing-solving-venue-based-mentor-mediated methods (BCMMM).   It is a tool that is instructional, balances pedagogy and return-demonstration sessions. It provides insights into individual possibilities and taps into day-to-day experiences to formulate action-driven products addressing expressed needs.   By beneficiary-centered the tool can be used to elicit demands or needs from beneficiaries and use these to characterize lived experience situations which become iterative cues.   By problem...
